Angry When it rains... it pours... a little help pls

Well, it actually started raining here in soCal this morning. Was able to take her out for a few hour ride b4, so that was nice..

Tooling around in the garage after the ride... and let's see:

- stripped the fender strut cover bolt.... again
- Accidently cut the wiring on my rear turn signal
- Ripped the fuel supply line in 2 when trying to lift the back end of my tank
- and... um... went an hour out of my way to get some nice shiny new hardware for my rocker boxes.... and got the wrong ones...
- oh yeah.. and let's not forget that I put a nice little ding in the underside of my pipes today trying to park by a freakishly tall curb..

so anyways. 2 questions and i'm good:
1) how do I replace the main suply line.. I got the coupling part, but the other side seems connected via some weird plastic tab or something.. never messed with this before - is this a pretty easy install? what should I be looking for? a nice braided cable out there? suggestions? i've only seen a braided cable for the 04-05.. i have an 07.. only option is OEM?
2) I hate the look of how far the rear turn signals stick out.. and don't like the rear turn sig relocation kit (the bar across the bottom of the taillight)look. anyone have any other ideas that would look nice?

And all this after my rocker box installation victory...

Thanks all.. and as always, appreciate the knowledge

J.

1) Fuel line: Push in on line slightly, take a screwdriver and relase the plastic clip thing "out" and pull the fuel line off...or out.

2) You can buy a license plate frame that has two small turn signals lights on each side. This is the cleanest method. Everyone sells them, Ness...etc. Drill small holes into your laydown plate housing and run wires back into the tailight, or drill small holes in fender and run into back of tailight..., or sneak them down behind the tail light mounting base.....whatever you wish.

That sucks!!

Here's what I did before I did the light bar below the tail light. 1/4 inch chrome spacers from the hardware store and shorter bolts. I had to run the wires under the struts, but it wasn't noticeable unless you point it out because the sigs covered them pretty good.

Check this image (copyright mud) from a post in the HOW TO thread. It shows some different stand-offs you could apply....

I've added the instruction sheets for the narrow mounting kit for rear turn signals p/n 69820-06 to the ***H-D instruction sheets database***
