Default Thunderstar dual rotor front wheel on FXD

Ok. So I just bought on ebay a Thunderstar 19" front wheel that currently has 2 rotors mounted up to it. I am just trying to verify that this should fit on my wifes superglide. I looked in the accessories book and it gives one part number for all 19" front ends up to 05. Am I correct in assuming that I just remove one rotor and run it with only the left rotor used? I could only find any information on 1 black thunderstar 19" front wheel, so I just assumed this was the right wheel.

It will fit, and if you pull off the right side disc, you will need to get a hub cap for that side. Normally the wheel comes with one, but since this is coming from Ebay it probably won't have it.

For what it's worth, here's a link to the Harley instruction sheet for that wheel.

Here's the part number for the hub cap:
43986-00 and refer to page two under the heading for Single Brake Disc Models.

Thanks for the information. I will have to check into that hubcap plate. Now I am just hoping that the 2 rotors that are on it are not the same. Someone put a brand new set of rotors on it and I am hoping to get lucky and they screwed up and used a front and a rear. If not, I'll just have to sell 1 rotor and buy a matching rear.

you need to have the wheel checked to make sure it is not bent before you get it on the bike. Also, 05 39mm front ends have a 1" axle. May need a bearing kit as previous years models had 3/4" as well as sportsters too.

I can just swap the bearings out of the old wheel into the new wheel. I will see what size axle the dyna has when I get the front wheel off. I do also plan to get it checked to make sure it is round when I have the tire swapped over.

NO don't swap bearings, get new ones! they are cheap. You can probably reuse the internal spacer from the old wheel though.
