Default Wheel question

I am looking to put 40 or 60 spoke wheels on my 09 Fat Bob, and I need some help finding reasonably priced wheels! I am building my bars, rear fender, and anything else I can so I really want to find a good but inexpensive set of wheels and get them powder coated to my liking. I have read through a lot of posts but was hoping to get some advice on where you guys buy your wheels.
Thanks.

problem with cheap wire wheels... chrome steel spokes and nipples.... rust too easy. IMHO get a nice set of good wires, done the way you want them, with good stainless spokes and good nipples. H-D wheels, black bike wheels, hogpros. All good options and not too much $$. Also american wire wheels makes nice wheels that don't ever need truing and are tubeless too.

Good luck finding Cheap wire wheels anywhere, especially in the wide rim sizes the fat bob uses. I've been hunting for an 18x2.50 rim for a while now. I was looking at $200 or more for Just the rim, no spokes. I've decided to wire up my 19x2.50 front rim to my rear hub when I do my 21" swap up front. Good luck on your hunt. Rounder is right, the chrome steel spokes/nipples aren't as good as the stainless, but I'm pretty sure factory HD rims/spokes are chromed steel. Take care of them and they'll be fine if you're pinching pennies.

The biggest issue I see is that with HD Wheels, they are 1200 a wheel finished.
Thanks for the advice! I will check out the sites mentioned.

Just got off the phone with HogPro...only $600 for a 18x3.50, 40 spoke, non-powdercoated rear wheel assembly and they won't sell just the rim...You gotta be kidding me.
