You'll need to modify or make the main bracket that mounts to the front of the frame neck otherwise should be pretty Straight forward. Let's see the pics when you start!!! I was considering this and found another fairing to use same idea police style but mine is fork mounted. good luck !!!

I've seen a FXDX with the RT fairing somewhere....but I cant remember where it was. I'm sure it can be done.....would take some mods, but I think it would be awesome.
That's a good lookin FXRT in the pics!

If memory serves, there are four threaded mount holes on the frame of the FXR series on the neck. The FXDs don't have those holes, so you'd have to weld something on for the mount, maybe address some clearance issues. Other than that, should be doable.

Default Fxrt

Dude........I've thought about doing that too. I checked out an FXRT this past summer and the fairing has a brace that connects to the fork neck on the frame. I was kinda thinking it may be slick to make a bracket that attaches to the tank mount tab instead. If you do mount it, be sure to take a lot of pictures and post all the steps!

It can't be too hard. I saw an FXD this year with a FXRT fairing on it. Don't remember how it was hooked up but it looked like it belonged there.
