Default Windshield advise

New WG owners, If you've put a Windshield on, I'd love to see some pics from difft angles. and here what you think of your windshield...

I ride without most of the time, but cooler weather is here, and it would be nice to have for some longer rides. Considering

HD quick detachable compact or Memphis shades (slim) or Windvest

Thanks

I have a Street Bob. HD detachable looks okay does the job. Windvest 16" is thicker and I think will last longer. Had one of these on my 05 Sporty and it was good. The Windvest while not detachable, detaches in 5 minutes with an Allen wrench.

I have a windvest on my '08 Wide glide. Had HD quick disconnect, sold it for the windvest. Pricey, but looks good and high quality. I have the Cee Baileys summer shield installed on the windvest (only 9"). Wonder how long it takes for the first post telling you that you shouldn't have any windshield at all...

Im thinking the Windvest would be the best looking choice, its sure different from anything else.

No pic with full size... Do a search in the Dyna section for Windvest, and you'll see some pics of other folks with full size. The windvest is designed to divert the air off your chest, and if you have the tall one, it'll divert it over your head as well, at the expense of a little buffeting. I have not found any shield that will eliminate all the buffeting. The 9" Cee baileys replacement shield (about $50) diverts all the air off my chest and provides pretty clean air to my helmet. I really like it because it is minimal in size and looks good. You'll be into about $375 with the Cee Bailey summer shield tho...

I have the HD QD on my fatbob,I think those a re the same forks. I don't find it takes away from the looks that much though I prefer it without for just around the city. I like to ride mostly outside the city however, usually for 3 to 8 hours a day and find the WS is a must. I'm just less tired with it,and Ion't get wobbles or bobbles contrary to alot of other riders experience. Lucky I guess = 5'10 with 32" inseam. It's all good with the stock fatbob or streetbob seats, but as soon as I go out with the sundowner (about an inch and a half higher) I start getting some head turbulence (bobble feeling).

I realize WG's have a more extended rake bu I rhought you might like to have a look at the compact shield just the same. Same bars, risers, exhaust, engine and tank emblems I beleive!

I have a harley sports windshield on my WG and also a fullsize, quick detach windshield for winter riding. The sports looks the best. When its cold out I don't care what it looks like on the bike.
