I'm not into #'s myself, but that does seem low for a 107". I would've guessed around 110/110 for your build. Ask around in the engine forum, them guys know whats what with them type of builds. And my first call would be to Scott Palmer over at Hillside.
I thought this was just a base line run, with no real tuning time?
It might be too early to panick, although the 7% leakdown after 600 miles would have me wondering a bit.

In my field (marine engines) 7% leakdown is very acceptable. Don't even raise an eyebrow untill it gets over 15%. Where is it leaking by? Crankcase? Intake or exhaust valve? Easy to determine with a stethoscope. Good luck.
Ive been down over a month getting this all worked out. Im putting it all back together this week an all should be good... Decided to go with S&S 106 kit an Andrews 54H cam...
So what happened? Since your going with a 106" s&s set-up, I'm guessing the 107" build was pretty messed up? I know you & I had talked about some of the problems you were having, and I'm just wondering what "they" had to say about the situation.
Some advise getting tough on the break in to ensure a good ring seal. Hard acceleration, strong engine compression down shifts. Ck new engine break in on this forum for opinions.

Agreed... The "stay slow, dont lug" route wont do sh*t. 3rd gear, hard acceleration to 4g's, let off and cost back down. Reapeat 7 times (some say 10). d.o.n.e
