Default Oil Change Guidance?

I am doing some work on the bike so I figured while I was doing this I would also preform an oil change. I do not have a manual for the bike as it was a repo purchase. So I want to make sure i put in the correct fluids and amount in the Engine and Primary/tranny.

First off, I am an Amsoil guy so with that out of the way and knowledge on changing the engine and primary/tranny oil on a Sportster. Here are my questions:
1. Does anyone know of a good online guide for doing this on a Dyna? (Engine & primary/tranny)
2. What wight oil do i use? Amsoil MCV 20W-50?
3. Is the primary/tranny still one peice?
4. Can I also use Amoil (Amsoil MCV 20W-50?)in the primary/tranny like I could on the Sportster?
5. How many qts for the engine?
6. How many qts for the primary/tranny?

I think that covers everything.

Thanks,
Joe

I hadn't seen an oil question in quite some time. These posts usually attract like 4-5-6 pages of answers,so imagine how many opinions you will get.
Amsoil 2/50 is great that is what I use in the tranny and engine. So far I've stuck with HD formula for the primary which is separate from the tranny, and they run each 1 quart. the engine takes 2.5 quarts. Lots of guys use amsoil in all three holes. others swear on heavier oil for the tranny = gear oil 80/90 and even heavier. and still others use ATF for their primary/clutch compartment. Good luck and welcome to the forums.
Suggestion= buy a manual you will enjoy it! best money spent to save money with!!!

+1 maddghost. Clymer Manuals for your year and model are not expensive ($22.00) and have a ton of info. Welcome and good luck

Far different than the sporsters, +1 on getting a service manual. Maybe contact your nearest HD dealer's service dept and ask them what the qty's are for your year and model. Some models are different and by years.
