Check my sig pic sanlyn,that's an '08 SB seat on an '08 fxdf. @ 185 lbs I am fine on it for all day riding and into the night. Paid $50 for mine and I'm glad I did!

 

The stock solo on my 07 SB was not comfortable at all after half an hour. As you can see, some people here don't have a problem with them. I sold mine for $50, which seems to be the going rate, and got a Mustang Vintage. No complaints from any part of my body.

 

you are thinking about exactly what I did. It does fit, in fact it is in my sig pic. I think it looks great and the price is right on most of these since they are easy to find. On comfort, I think mine is just fine for around town, maybe a couple of hours tops but you won't want to make many long trips on it. Not as bad on your butt as say a LePera Bare Bones or anything but not super soft either.

 

I contacted the dealership and they told me it wouldn't fit my FXDF.

 

The stock seat is kind of what sold me on my 07 FXDB, as soon as I sat on the bike - everything felt synergistic. 3 years later its still feels just right although the material is starting to split in seams. To be fair I would say the splitting is from normal wear and tear since its been 3 years and I do condition the seat about twice/month.

 

I replaced the stock seat on another cruiser, which shall remain nameless, with a Mustang Day Tripper and had no problems thereafter. However, the stock Solo on my '09 Street Bob has been great for rides 2 hours plus. I have no plans to replace it for now.

 

Had to replace mine. Loved the look of the stock solo though.

 

It took about 7,000 miles, but it broke in nicely. For long trips I throw a gel pad over it.

 

I really like the look of it, and I dont find it uncomfortable at all.

 

For any of you who swapped out your stock solo seat, have you sold it or do you plan to? I am looking for an 09 street bob stock seat.

I tried to post on the WTB forum, but for some reason i don't have priveleges there.

I plan to send my seat to have the memory foam insterted, but really like to look of the original seat just not the comfort and wanted to have a backup original seat.
