Default New PIAA Headlight *pics*

On the recommendation of our local Indie, I bought a PIAA headlight bulb for about $50. Specifically it was the model H-383SE, described as having a bluish purple low beam and a Xtreme white High beam. I was told this sucker would really light things up. Eh, not so much.

I found a dark road tonight and took some before and after pics for both lo and hi beam. They are below, the first two are low beam: stock, then PIAA, second two are hi beam: stock then PIAA:

Aside from the shaking from the motor making for bad pictures, you can see that there was not much difference if any. The color change was the most noticeable part, but even that was minimal. Not worth the $$ IMO, but I will leave it.

Steve

on the low beams, I can count more lines in the road. Maybe an extra 10-20 feet. It is not much of a difference however at speeds, seeing 20 feet further could be very beneficial. IMHO, if you want real good light, seek out Howard at motorcycle metal and purchase one of his HID systems. Not all that expensive for the light it will produce.

Helpful post indeed. No need to dump the $$$ just to change the color of your light.

Thanks! I'm surprised there is so little difference. Like the other fellow said, the
stock low beam looks brighter to me.. Total waste of money...
