Default Gerbing Heated Gear on sale

Just a FYI, got an e-mail from grandprixmotorsports that they're doing their gerbing sale again this year. Coupon code is Gerb1013. I think it was something like 20% off last year when I got mine.

Over the past few winters, I had just been 'manning up' ... as a means of dealing with long rides in sub-40 degree weather ....

Finally decided to break down and get a set of glove liners and controller ... tired of having to thaw out my hands after my rides ....

Thanks for the post ....

I broke down and bought some Firstgear riding pants ... the Escape pants ....

Set me back $250, but I've heard good things about them and as much as I ride in the rain and cold, figured it is money well spent ....

Does anyone know, with the insoles, how do they stay in place? I mean, with my boots (at least some of them), there is a lot of muscling and struggling and tugging and pushing to get them on and off. It strikes me that insoles that are just set in place would get moved around...?

Also, where do the wires run? Just up the inside of the boot ...? ...and what, up inside your pants legs?

I'm tempted on the glove liners. Seems simple and hands do get cold. But everything else seems like a lot of cumbersome trouble.

I can't speak for this brand but I was looking on the heat demons website just to see the grip warmers and noticed the foot things. They looked like insoles to me with lines on them to cut to fit like Odor Eaters....then there was a paired wire that comes right out of the toe of the insole. I suppose they expect you to maybe run the wire out at the bottom of the laces......eh, either way I don't need that stuff that bad so I am glad. I could not deal with wires running all over the place.

Way back when I used to go deer hunting every winter I did buy some heated socks though that worked decent I guess. They used two D cell batteries and just strapped to your lower leg. Less cumbersome at least but awkward still.
