Belt tool HD-35381-B
My 2010 Shop Manual says to use HD-35381-B to adjust the belt. I cannot find a listing for this tool. I seached HD's site and I found part # 40006-85.

Is this the same thing? If not, what is HD-35381-B?

Searching the net google came up with this result:
http://harleytools.spx.com/PDF%5CISh...HD-35381-A.PDF
It seems to me the tools are different but they both serve the same goal:
check belt deflection!

that's the tool. unnecessary. All you need to do is twist the belt in your thumb and first finger. If you can twist it over 45 deg. then your belt is too loose. Under, too tight. It is often regarded that H-D actually recommends a too tight of a belt. Guys I know that wrench for a living run their belt a little looser than Harley suggests. Cooler belt and longer life.
