Looks great man! Just as nice as the HD paint sets IMO. Probably alot less cash too.

I was surprised that the paint alone was $250 for Pewter Denim, Clear Denim and an activator. The emblems were $200 as well. Thats $450 before you actually do anything. It probably took 10 hours with removing the old emblems, aligning and installing the new emblems, designing the artwork and taping, sanding, masking off the entire bike, spraying the flames and then pinstriping. At $80 hr that's another $800.
So if you had someone do this entire process for you you are looking at $1250 without any markup for artistic creativity.

I think it looks really nice - I'd like to do something similar. I have the vivid black and would like to use an orange or perhaps blue flame but don't want it to look like a copy of a WG tank. Maybe a little more pin stripe effect. I also agree - sometimes less is more. Great job.

Really, really nice job. Everyone has an idea and mine would be to change the seat color to gray and bring the whole thing together.

Maybe even gray leather and black flame stitching.....

Awesome.

Some don't like the brown seat. I didn't want to spend $400 and have a seat that looked very close to the stock black one. In person it's a distressed ash brown finish, but grey would probably go better now that I have the grey flames.

I'm not a fan of the seat color but the bike/paint job looks great!

Those flames look sweet.
I have an '08 SG in pewter denim, which doesn't show the dirt as much as some of those other colors. I just got a used tour pack for those over nighters and weekend trips that I want to get painted. Was thinking maybe I'll try to paint it myself, no experience, it just too expensive to have done. For something thats going to be on the bike maybe 2-3 times a year. Just started today looking up paint codes and came across your paint post. I was looking at your paint codes and the Denim Clear Acrylic Urethane # would not work for me on this link.

https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/partLookUp.html

I did find this # 98609CLR, looks to be the same part. Maybe the # has changed since. Does it look like it would be the same?
