Street Bob question
i bought some Samson street sweepers to throw on my new street bob, i was told i either have to get a power commander by the aftermarket dealer i bought the pipes from and said hed sell to me at cost because hes a friend of a friend , i was told by the dealer the power commander is crap and he said i should buy the much more expensive screamin eagle efi fuel computer to safely run the pipes. im sure i can get away using the power commander just fine but i want the best as well, i kinda feel the dealer will tell me that because they either have to or they just want me to come spend money there and then pay them the extra money to have them install it as well.... i really rather get the first choice and do everything myself because i like to work on my own ****. id just like some knowledgable feedback from someone unbiased and familiar with this **** because i really want to throw these pipes on and actually here my bike , cant stand this stock crap anymore.

RE: Street Bob question
Hey baxter, A PCIII I think would be great, Although I bought my wife Bassani pro streets for her street bob she loves them! All I did so far was have harley throw a stage one download in it, I put a air cleaner kit on it and the bike runs GREAT! I think the download just raises rpm but the bike is a (I think) a closed loop system the oxygen sensors tell the computer how rich or lean the engine is running & compensates fuel enrichment. Not no harley tech but know wifes put down 10k miles on her street bob already with NO PROBLEMS.

RE: Street Bob question
I have Street Sweepers on my Bob and a PCIII. Runs great, but I had it dyno tuned with the install. No complaints. Stealer wanted to sell me a SERT and charge me 8 hours of dyno time at $100/hr. PCIII took only 2-3 hours to dyno tune.
Go with the PCIII if you are not planning on any engine mods in the future. If you do plan on making engine mods, you might want to consider the SERT. I'm not changing the engine, so PCIII was good enough.
