Default Lower belt guard cracking.

My chrome lower belt guard cracked from the vibration. I welded it. Cracked again. Bought a new one. New one cracked. Brazed it. Cracked again. Anyone else had this problem?

Wow, that's pretty wild. Just take that sum-beotch off and leave it off.
I haven't had a lower guard for 3 years and been problem free...

Check the alignment down the swing arm, you might have to bend the attachment points or add washers to pack it out to stop stress fractures.

I had a mate nearly crash due to his top guard getting caught up in the sprocket after it let go.
Is the guard straight?
cheers

The guard is straight and is mounted correctly. No rubbing on the sprocket. Maybe my bike just vibrates more than others. Other than the rattling from the cracked guard, nothing seems strange, different, or excessive. The guard just seems to be manufactured a little thin and cracks right in the bend near the screws.

take both guards off and presto! no more cracking. The day I picked my DX up, I stripped everything worthless off of it, belt guards, charcoal cannister, horn, etc. Streamline that bad boy.
