I like to think I lean towards the performance end of the HD spectrum and if I had to replace my old FXDXT, I'd start with a base Fat Bob platform for sure. I've ridden one, and other than the anemic motor, quite liked the handling and the way it fit me; dual front discs and a good sized front tire seem like a nice start, too...would probably replace the headlight with something off a Fat Boy, maybe even HID.....as far as the engine goes, I'd prefer to start with a stock 96", then open it up. I'm sure I'd be happy with my results. Would like to try Hot Rod Flatz for paint next time and I can't wait to see how Joes' SE wrinkle black powdercoat turns out on some of my parts.....

I love mine. I did not care much for the dual headlight either but remedied that for $60.

I think they look pretty cool except for the rear fender but every time I see those twin headlights I can't help but think I should have got a Speed Triple.Allot less money, allot more performance.

I ride a '09 FatBob and like that it is different. Its got the stuff that makes Harley what it is, but unigue without going to the extreme of a V-Rod.
I'm a solo rider most of the time so the "bobbed" styling works for me.

I like the twin disc front (wish my bike had it), I dont mind the twin head lights. Its that fat front tire and the rear fender I could not bring my self to like. But I guess they did something right because they sold a crap load of them.

What a ridiculous thread. If you don't like a bike, then don't buy it. Who cares? My momma taught me, if ya ain't got nuthin nice to say, then don't say nuthin. Sometimes a simple truth like that is worth thinking about.

Im just asking why they are so popular. I never said its a bad bike I just want to know what draws the masses to it

To me it looks like the HD that's the most built to be ridden rather than looked at. For that reason, I think it's the best looking HD. If I had the cash when I was shopping, I would've bought one for sure.

What data do you see or going by that shows HD model sales?

Can't speak for other owners but I just liked the way it fit me. Liked the bars, and the balance of the bike. And hell, my Triumph Speed Triple has dual headlights, so having a Harley with the same set up didn't put me off.

I concur with the previous poster. This is a stupid *** thread, only Harley guys bash each others bikes.
