Default fork and tree question

Does the wide glide have longer forks than the other dynas. I see alot of guys doing wide glide conversions but none of them seem to duplicate the look of the wide glide. The WG seems to be more raked out, longer. How can this set up be achieved, new forks, trees, both? thanks guys.

The WG has more rake than the other dynas. I don't know about actual fork length, though. I know the WG has rake in the trees, not sure if there is more in the neck as well. If you just want rake, you can put in raked neck cups, triple trees or do a search and read all the other threads about it.

not sure what year you are asking about,

I do know the 006 and up WG fork pipes are about 2 1/2" longer.

rake is in the trees, as well as the frame.

2010 may be different

I'm talking about 06 and up. I've seen the threads on wide glide conversions, but like I said, I haven't seen anyone duplicate the look of the stock 06 and later WG on a superglide. Maybe someone has and I just can't tell from the pics. Trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Can't buy a new bike, I'd take an a$$ wooping on the trade!

06+ WG has 34* in the neck, 2* in the trees for a total 36*.

The reason why the WG front end looks different on, say, a superglide is because there is less rake in the neck on the SG. I want to say it's between 29* and 31* but don't know for sure.

I was under the impression the SG is only 28* in the neck?

I just put 3 degree trees (1 degree more rake than the WG trees) on my 06 FXDI Super Glide which has 29 degrees rake in the neck. The front looks nothing like a Wide Glide because, like that long-haired hippie lookin' fellow said, the WG has 34 degrees built into the neck from the factory.

Here is a comparison of the total of 32 degrees on my Super Glide as compared to the 36 degrees on an 08' Wide Glide:

Use a rake/trail calculator and see if a combination of trees and raked cups will get you closer safely.

Also, look at bolt on chopper kits. Seeger is one manufacturer of these.

Other than that, open your wallet, dig deep, and have your frame cut to put rake in the neck.
