Front end sway

I've experienced both wobble and sway.
The wobble occurred on a heavily rutted section of highway that allowed the rear wheel to get out of alignment with the front wheel...a classic initiator of the dreaded tank-slapper. Fortunately, the section of road was short and the speed was slow enough that the situation didn't have time to escalate to a dangerous level.
The sway was a completely different motion. The front tire didn't oscillate back and forth. The entire bike swayed from side to side. At first very slightly but increasing in both frequency and amplitude as speed increased. I'm no physicist but I believe in the field of aerodynamics the motion is called "flutter". Depending upon how I positioned my body and arms the sway would begin at different speeds and a head wind made it begin at lower MPH. Which enforces my belief that it's not a mechanical problem but an aerodynamic one. Interestingly, it doesn't always happen. I've had her up to 100+ without twitch and I've had her hopping all over the road at only 70. Could be something about how I'm sitting, what I'm wearing, what I'm listening to, what I ate or drank...probably a little bit of everything.
Then again, I could be totally wrong.
