Default Those of you with Short Shots and No Baffles

Hey guys,

So I got this bugg up my butt a couple nights ago to take out the baffles in my V&H Short shots. Mind you there is nothing else done to the bike but this, and I have a couple questions.

Before I took out the baffles on deceleration there was no popping or barking it u will. Now I wanted them to be a little louder so I tokk the baffles pout and went for a ride today and noticed That on deceleration there is a good amount of barking and gear shifting there is a little bark. Should I be worried and put the baffles in right away?

I do plan in the next month or so getting the V&H fuel pack and a SE Heavy Breather. Will this stop the barking... I dont mind it much but I dont want to hurt the new bike.. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Tim

w/o the baffles there is no backpressure which could cause some problems in my opinion i would not do that to my bike... i belive it causes premature engine wear... but hey to each his own remember its your bike you do what you want to it

Yeah, I think I am going to end up putting them back in. I wonder what custom bike builder do for back pressure when the fab up pipes...

I have the V&H slip on did yours come with the quiet or standard baffles. The standards baffles are like having no baffles and I don't get decel popping. I did with the E3 plugs, but I went back to stock spark plugs and it's all gone again!!

I pulled mine about 3 years ago. Took it fof a test ride, thought it sounded bad. Had a buddy take it around the block so I could hear it, confirmed it sounded like crap. Reinstalled them. Havent looked back.

'Torque Cones' are available for drag pipes. They install at the jugs, inside the header pipe.
W/o back pressure you actually lose HP & Torque at lower & mid-range RPM's.

Replace with a set of Big City Thunder Monster Baffles. I have them in my V&H ShortShots and they are way louder than stock and have much better sound than running open.

BCT's are a waste of money. They're just glorified "lollipop" baffles. You can make them without any real tools or fabwork out of a couple dollars worth of hardware store supplies.

There's tons more about them all over the internet, do a google search.
