2001 turn signal conversion?
Hey guys, I went to the local stealer on lunch today and I was looking at accessories for my '01 FXDX. One thing that caught my eye is they sell a turn signal conversion kit that converts the stock amber signals to red tail/stop/signal lights. Unfortuantely, the label says it fits '02 or later models. Now I've run into similar things with other parts and they've fit my '01. Does anyone know if that conversion kit will fit the 2001? If not does anyone know of a cheaper aftermarket kit that would do the same thing (the Moco kit is only $42 and has complete wiring harnesses). Thanks in advance for the help.

RE: 2001 turn signal conversion?
I've got the smaller bullet lights, they were relocated when the saddlebags were added. As far as manually converting them, I do know how to do that, but the HD kit would obviously be much easier as it is only a change of the wiring harness and the lenses. I didn't even think about the fact that I'd have to see if the second contact is in there, I'll have to look at that and the harness and if they both look like they're up to the task, maybe just buy the kit and return it if it don't work out.

A word of caution, most places won't take back electrical items that have been opened.
I think the reason they say it won't work is because the 2001 and older used the dome style lens and in 2002 changed to a smaller size. Someone on the forum told me he used it on his 2001 wide glide and it worked fine. I was going to do this but I needed a new tire and brakes first so I spent the $ to keep me on the road.
If you get one let us know if it works.
I have a 2001 Superglide and still have the dome style lights on mine, but as long as it just plugs in I could always pickup some red lenses.
