Default Different Bars on a Fat Bob

I know there's been posts about apes on a fat bob, but how about one post about all the different kinds of bars you guys and gals have put on your fat bob's to give me an idea about which way to go?

I don't have a pic but I am seriously considering some bars Drag Specialties sells. They are 13" chubby apes, 1 1/2" too.....would look killer on the Fat Bob. Special riser required due to the diameter, but don't worry....they sell those too! Then cables and brake lines and basically that's why I don't have them now. Probably at least $800 and that's if I do it myself. I also like the black ones with the gussets welded in too.

Good luck with what you choose and post pics please.

...............1" Low Rider bars / 6" pull-back risers............................................ 1.25" Fat Boy bars & risers..................

Road King brake line, Street Bob clutch & throttle cables on both bars.

I think beach bars would be slick...but I like the stockers better than any other setup that I've seen, including apes.

Oh yea, I had a pair of those also on my FXDF... can't find a pic though.
They looked good (1.25" internally wired), rode good… took them off to try something else.

Of the 4 different bars I've tried, the Fat Boy's have been my favorite.

I also wanted to mention that I've used the same cables listed previously and the the stock length of control wiring has worked for each setup.

'Comfortable' is kind of relative... it seems like I'm always fighting some form of fatigue some where on my body every time I ride, but then again I usually ride till I'm tired.

I took the Beach Bars for a 3 day ride through the Monongahela, George Washington & Jefferson Nation Forest, then up the Blue Ridge Parkway... I'd say the handle bars rode very comfortably.

What I liked about the bars was... what I'd call a 'gliding' feeling; a very easy going, soak-it-all-in cruising type of experience.
But, that’s not to say that these bars lacked any thing in how the bike handled the twisters... almost as crisp & tight on the forward pegs as the stock bars. There's always trade-offs when you start changing things.

I think a key for any rider is to try different things. What might work well for one might turn out to be torture for some one else. Bars, seats, pegs & boards... there are many combinations; you have to find what works for you.

Any setup that allows you to bend your elbows, lean over the tank & scootch forward as you push the bar into a turn will always give satisfactory performance in the twisters. I never have understood 'apes' for this reason & never plan to try em.

The Narrow Beach Bar is a Harley Genuine Motor Part, #56857-05... @ $200. I got mine off EBay for way less. You don't have to spend a lot of money to achieve a sweet setup. Make it functional... then make it pretty.
