Thanks for the reply, I just tightened up the head bearing a little, but haven't ridden it yet (its raining), It clunks when I hit a bump, I checked the tank already.I read something about low fork oil ,but its not leaking & this just started when I was on a 200 mile ride. The Harley dealer did loosen up on the head bearing for a shimmy at highway speed.

I chased the elusive front end clunk on my 02 FXD. Here's what I did. Loosen the lower fork pinch bolts, knock on the lower pinch with a non-marring hammer (rubber mallet), re-torque the stem bolt. This will draw to two halves of the triple tree together, you won't see this but it does. Re-torque the lower pinch bolts. Check your tank mount bolts and check to make sure the jiffy stand hits the rubber bumper not the frame. May need help with the jiffy stand. The pinch bolt thing fixed my clunk about 5k miles ago.

There is a MoCo service bulletin on this problem. I had it on my '07 FXDC. The bulletin is M-1215. Took mine in and had the repair accomplished and haven't had an issue since. If you want the bulletin, I have it in .pdf format, it's too big to upload. PM me an email addy and I'll send it.
