you are looking at over 500.00 for the dealer to install mid control on the 2006 dyna's. this is why i just went with forward pegs. best of both worlds having both .

Switched to forwards on my '06 Low Rider and think they're great.

Had a local shop do the install (I'm not handy with a wrench). He used HD parts. Total bill was around $450 - the dealer wanted about $535 for the job.

I wasn't too keen about using the highway pegs that much because my foot was pretty far from the mid-control brake.

Very happy with the switch.

Either that or get fwd controls but keep the midmount pegs for a change of position on road trips.

Not a bad idea. You'll have to buy a set of pegs though because the HD forward control kit does not come with pegs. And the mid-control brake pedal was attached to the peg mount bracket on my '06 Low Rider.

You can use the factory stock mounts. True, you do have the tab sticking out on the brake side but it's to the inside and not very noticeable. It also covers the indentation on your exhaust shield which is left exposed when you go to fwd controls.

Good Luck

Tom

I agree with TOMMAY,, leave the mids on.. Get the best of both worlds. It really makes a differance when your on long runs, hepls to move your feet around.. the boards even help more.. But many dont like the looks of the boards, I like mine but its a taste thing..
The mids do help cover that stupin indention in the heat sheild.. Mids on, mids off,, boards on or pegs, either way go with the forwards, you'll love them...............
