the 05 dyna seen in my signature is my first Harley. All my previous bikes were Japanese and I had some fun on them but none were close to being as enjoyable as my Dyna. Also I have not had any problems with my bike and all the parts have remained attached. Park a Harley next to a jap bike and you can see the difference. The jap cruisers are cheesy knock offs. Ugly bikes loaded with plastic and clutter. Oh and their v-twins sound like garbage next to a Harley.

I have to replace:

1. Michelin tires
2. Floating front brake disc & pads (to non-floating)
3. Shocks
4. Front fork suspension
5. Exhaust and more I expect that I have not gotten to yet.

Any suggestions as to shocks, front fork suspension, disc pads? Exhaust? I have chosen Pirelli Night Dragons with a wide tire kit. TIA!
I'm not that familiar with your bike, but all my buds who ride dynas use a fork brace to stiffen up the front end. Have you considered that?

No I (we) didn't buy a Harley 'to look' cool.
My purchase of the past Harleys and this one were always because it was the bike I desired, even after looking at all the options, metric, Italian, German, sport bikes and even dirt bikes.
Glad your 2 metrics fit the bill of the bikes you desired. Too each his own.
Wonder how the Fury rides. You didn't buy it for the image, did you!

As for Harleys being junk, my 98 is holding together very nicely, despite my best efforts to modify her to death! Those hardware store nuts and bolts hold up to my sloppy mechanics, are cheap to replace when I screw up, can be replaced with chrome if one wishes, and are available down the street at the hardware store if I lose one.

I'm just wondering when they started putting floating rotors on street bobs?

My '06 front rotor 'looks' like a floater but it isn't.

LOL I didn't say the bike was crappy. I love my bike. I just am tired of having to replace parts to bring my bikes up to snuff. This is not the first time. I lost many of thousands of dollars on my last Harley upgrades. I understand that Harley has to make a profit by reducing costs and therefore using some (not all) cheaper parts. I would just like to get kissed once or twice if I am going to get FITA. hehe I mean Harley acts like "how dare you suggest some of our parts are inferior" When every salesman knows darn well that you will be spending a lot more on various upgrades. I never get a straight answer from a dealer. But I still love the bikes. :-)

LOL ;-) Never said I thought the bike was crappy. I love my bike. Just have to replace some stock parts at my expense. Nobody ever complains to HD CS about these things so they are never forced to produce a complete product.

There is nothing you *have to* replace on a new Harley. You could ride any Harley right off the showroom floor and never do anything to it other than gas it up and routine maintenance.

Harley Davidson is a huge name and they have made billions of dollars since they have been in business, if they cant produce a motorcycle by now that is problem free, without parts falling off as you ride down the road, they need to start over and come up with a new and improved product. Do you now see why each and every time you look on the back of something, It never says made in the USA. Thats sad! Im a freakin proud American too, but Im not just gonna buy junk with my hard earned money to support my country.
Whoa man, slow down there. :-) Nobody said that parts fall off Harleys. hehe They just have made some come cost saving decisions that affect the consumer as most large corporations do nowadays. And sorry to say, no matter how cool I think my bike is, it's certainly not going to make me look any cooler. :-( I bought my bike because I liked it. I had to order it so I was not given a test ride, otherwise I would have made the mods from the get go and financed the whole deal. Hey I have seen a lot of cool bikes from all brands, if you like your ride, it was the best choice for you to make.

Having said that, you would never see me on a rice burner. LOL JUST KIDDING MAN!
