Default Brake switch

I have to put silicone spray every other day so my front brake
swith to work..the swith always get stuck....just thinking about pulling out
the brake lever, but, wondering about the brake master....wondering if
trying to cleaning it will work...

that for your help...

Try looking here in the search section (cable luber). Harber Freigth sales them for $5 or so. sounds as if you could use a better Lubricant.

ummmm brakes dont use cables he must mean the switch

Not much problem cleaning.. Disassemble slowly and easily watch how it comes apart reassemble the same way. had to do mine was easy but it is small and not to easy to get the parts in the correct position. I did it and i did anyone can.

Have you changed the handle bars, or had the front master cyclinder off the bike?
If so... the swith... I mean the switch... may be bugered-up.
If not... see if your local dealer will replace it under waranty.

Actually, some HD's do have a cable actuated brake...I own one.

Using a silicone spray on a sticky switch aint the best idea I heard of. The residuals collect dust and dirt, making the problem worse when you think youre making it better. Using a non-chlorinated spray contact cleaner is a better idea. I prefer Jack Daniels or Kamchatka Vodka. Ethanol is a great cleaner. And you get to use the leftovers to admire your work.

Have you been working on the handle bar and switch housings lately? My guess is you caused damage to the rubber stop light plunger.

See attachment how to remove and re-install a new stop light switch (p/n 71590-96).

someone told me that my break light stand on for a minute of riding after taking off...

didnt change nothing...thanks very much for the attachment work sheet. i will try this
