The Nitros are stainless steel and the 2810s are not.
The Nitros have a fully adjustable (threaded) spring preload and the 2810 have a stepped cam for preload.
Both shocks have a 10-click adjustable damping.
The Nitros have a 38mm piston and the 2810 is smaller (not sure exact diameter though).
Those are the notable differences in my book.
EDIT: For what it's worth, Hagon says that the Nitro is their Harley shock - designed specifically for Harleys. They'll recommend it all day every day. I'd recommend the Nitro as well, but that being said, the 2810 are GREAT on a dyna too. I didn't feel lacking at all with my 2810. Bottom line, if you're willing and able to spend $500+ then get the Nitro. If you're a little tighter on the budget then get the 2810 and you'll be completely satisfied. For quality, and what you're getting at each price-point, I'd get either of these shocks over any other brand shock in the future.

These were priced less than the works and pro actions I was considering.... And the fact that Howard is somewhat local to me will make future rebuilds easier.... Happy so far, he took the time out of his busy schedule to revalve them for me so I could pick them up last night.... Only day I would have been able to for three weeks..

Thanks dude. I had all of them except FXRT, this is my favorite. FXRT looks dope but too rich for my blood, maybe some day..

There are no stupid questions. It's steering dumper, helps to tighten steering a bit when you need it (like on freeway you can have it tighter, on twisties or in city - more loose). Also absorbs some of the noise from road - bike is more stable. GPR is better action & look, but costs way more (~$700)

Does anyone have experience with installing FXDX shocks on 06 and up Dynas? Are spacers or any type of hardware modifications/additions requred?

i run fxdx shocks on my '10 fxdb. I used 4 (part # 6219 from h-d) spacers. The stock bolts are a little long for fxdx shocks. You could shorten them, replace the bolts or just use the spacers like i did.
