What are the pros/cons of going taller up front (aside from obvious ground clearance bonus)? And how tall should I go given 13" in the rear?
It's not in your head. Generally, increasing rear height (or lowering the front) will make the bike turn more quickly, which could contribute to a feeling of instability if you aren't used to it. Too much difference and things will feel downright twitchy. I personally prefer the feeling of slightly higher rear end (12.6-12.75) on handling.

You can "slow down" the handling by decreasing the sag (longer spacers or preload) which will stiffen the front end and reduce the effect of the raised rear. Or increase the sag slightly on the rear. Or you can go with longer tubes to raise the front end. I've never tried that, but have experimented quite a bit with sag and longer shocks.

Yes, raising the rear technically shifts more weight towards the front, like a wheelbarrow. Or try crawling on all fours, then walk on all fours with your feet flat on the ground and your arms are hurt more because your rear in the air shifts weight to your arms. Raising the front will keep things in balance.

Thanks guys. So Squid, you have good enough results playing with the sag? I'll say that what instability I do feel isn't much, and isn't consistent so I figure it can't take much tweaking to fix it.

I ended up raising the rear-end of my bike 1" and lowering the front .5".

I would like to try to configure an holiness piston damper on the top of my triple trees for peace of mind.

Cant be that hard. Couple custom brackets and i think it could attach the same way one did on my CBR.

Clearance from lock to lock would be the hurdle.

I did, yes, but my rears are under 13. Also, sag only helps to a point where handling starts to suffer. Your weight factors in too. If you have preload adjusters it's an easy thing to test. If you don't, It's a pita.
