Well I took the plunge today. Dropped my dyna off at my buddies shop to take the motor out and then take the motor to the motor guy for go fast parts. I am very exited and stressed all at the same time. I talked myself I to having the flywheels welded, trued, and a timken conversion done while it's torn down for the big bore and cams. Can't wait to get it back for break in and pv tuning

Congratulations for taking the plunge. It will be a whole new bike when you get it back and it will put an even bigger smile on your face.

This is a photo of my old FXR from about 12 years ago....Wonder what I was copying back then?
It's a shitty photo, I wasn't much of a picture taker in those days.
Man that's a sweet ride. I can't wait to get mine going.

Mild build. 95 inch 9.4-1 compression with 203 cams. Flywheels trued and welded with timken bearings. Cam bearings swapped out. Baisley oil pump spring, s&s lifters and adjustable pushrods. No headwork right now. In the near future when I do I will probably change the cams up to suite.

Sounds like you are using some high end parts. I have the S&S lifters and baisley lmr-2 oil spring and plunger as well.

Gonna be a fun ripper man.

Nice! Are you keeping the heads and jugs silver? I was tossing around going with black jugs, silver heads and black rocker boxes. Started thinking that would be too choppy with the colors so I may end up keeping the heads and jugs silver and just doing the rocker boxes. HdBobber I think you had silver cases and black jugs and heads right? You got any pics? I think your running chrome rockers tho.... Black jugs heads and rockers may be too much black.. I dunno... Sorry for rambling

Those old FXRP's are nice bikes...I used to have a bunch of "take off" FXRP fairings around and that's where the one on the bike in the photo came from. I'm workin' on setting my Dyna up that way now.
