Awesome, thanks. Like SLV, I already have a few bucks tied up in my current hybrid, so I'll probably hold off for a while, but damn it would've been nice to have this last year.

The db meter on the 1D5250 ranged from 96db completely smushed with packing (huge loss in power) to 108db as it was just before I pulled it. Those numbers are at idle in my driveway. They go up significantly with a twist of the throttle.
Wait I'm confused are you saying with the new pipe you lose horsepower?

No, we were talking about sound levels - decibels.

Ok a different direction now -

I have an Arlen Ness air cleaner - basically a K&N setup like a lot of you have - and after I clean and oil it's nice and red, but within a couple of weeks its practically white.
Is it because I didn't use enough oil?
Or because it's not a red filter underneath the red oil?
Arlen says to re-oil at 15000 or 25000 miles (I can't recall for sure) but my looks like it needs more oil after a few hundred.

What am I missing here?

Most of the filters are white when dry. The oil is pinkish. Well, at least the K&N kit oil is. It's typical for the filter to be grayish when it needs cleaning/re-oiling.

Ok but mine went from pink/red to gray in just a few hundred miles.
Is that typical?

When you run an open filter, yes, especially if it gets wet. Plus the front side will get packed with bugs. Use a rain sock or cover to keep it cleaner longer.

So does that mean I need to clean and re-oil every few hundred miles??
Most manufacturers say anywhere from 5000 to 25000 or even 50000 between cleanings.

OR is it that the red color is gone but the oil is still there??
The filter sure feels oily to the touch and it's not visually dirty.

MandMcycles.com has the lowest price I could find, free shipping, and no sales tax (and great service).

Squid, Black exhaust looks a lot better on your bike. I really like the sound of mine. Nice mellow deep tone.
