I went with the 12", all stock cables and wires without any issues.

I'm planning on taking a good ride this weekend since we are supposed to get some decent weather. If I do I will try to grab some scenic bike shots since nothing has really changed other than 2" of height on my bars. Outside of that I'm waiting for my new suspension for a new round of pics.

The WCTBs are quite a bit narrower and have much less pull back than your stock mini-apes so you can go a good bit taller. I have 10" bars on 2" extensions for a total of 12" (13" to the top of the bar) and still have room to go. I'm purely guessing, but with the tremendous amount of wire slack, brake line slack, and clutch cable slack I still have, I would say I could get 15-16" easy. This all changes if your bars get wider or have more pullback, of course, but your bars should be no different than mine in those areas unless WCTB has recently changed their specs.

I just went with the HD version. They were like $40, which is more expensive than what I could find online, but with shipping it was almost a wash and I was impatient.

Thanks man. Once I have the cap, gauge, and ignition powdered to match, it's gonna look really nice. I'm gonna be out of commission for a few weeks waiting on it all. If I get lucky, it will coincide with San Diego's "rainy season."

They're the Kuryakyn flush mounts that I scuffed up and painted textured black. The paint has held up pretty well, but I can see some chrome peaking through the edges of the fuel cap after 3 tank fills. Powder coat is definitely needed.

EDIT: Yes, that's my PV mounted on a RAM mount. I use it to keep an eye on my speed while lane splitting. Looking down to check my speedo while dodging truck mirrors sucks.

I know what you mean. I'm leaning towards the chrome myself when I see it in pictures and also can't really explain why other than maybe it flows better.

Comfort really. After making the change I think the 10" looked better, but the 12" are more comfortable. That's not to say the 10" were "uncomfortable", but with Tbars they follow the rake of the bike so going higher also brings them closer to your body and those extra 2" brought them from awesome to perfect, from a comfort and handling perspective. Since this is all subjective, I should also mention that I'm just about 5'10", with a slightly longer than average reach for my height (no idea how many inches, though).

I finally broke down and adjusted my apes to see how they fit straight up, and not set forward 2", and it was nice. I thought I had a 16" rise originally, turns out its only 14". Thanks SLV for convincing me to check that before I went and ordered my bars.....Now to decided what style I want, heh.

No problem. I learned it the hard way; I may as well save others the same trouble.
