I am debating on re installing my Upper Belt Guard as an extra safety measure for my Leather Pro Retro Saddlebags. I checked the clearance without the guard and I have at least 2 inches of clearance with the bags unloaded.

How many of you FXDX/FXDXT owners are running the LeatherPro Retro Bags and are you running the Upper Belt Guard or Not?

Pics didn't come through Cascade. Try again, I'd love to see it.

As long as you have the clamps fully and properly engaged, those bags won't budge. I didn't have my right side bag fully seated on the post before engaging the clamp and it rubbed on my shock spring a little and left a mark.

Garry's directions are very clear on that though. I just didn't follow them.

Thanks Guys,
i have been going thru my bike as i found a excellent Stainless Steel Hardware supplier minutes from my new place. So I have been making hardware runs for the last few days to cleanup some items.

Here is the belt guard installed....

New Stainless button head bolts and Nylok Nuts, I also picked up some Stainless Bolts for the Passenger Pegs as shown. I think this is the first bike I have owned that I actually like the belt guards in place.
