Thats one thing that Cali is cool about for sure.... When I bought my StreetBob 2 years ago I had never seen SOA or knew of any club info regarding the quarter fairing equipped Dynas. The first thing that I wanted to do was a quarter fairing because thats what I liked and wanted. Then I saw SOA and started reading up on this style of bike. It seems that their is a overall negativity towards this look especially since the stupid TV show popped up. So I never did a quarter fairing due to the crap I would surely take from other riders regarding the style. I have to admit that there is 1 or 2 fairings that I may still end up with when I get some dough. I just wish that SOA had never aired so that the look wouldnt have been tainted even more than it may have already been.

Bottom line is quarter fairing equipped Dynas look Tuff and when equipped with drag bars, mids, and beefed up suspension they work good for aggressive riding. I like em.....

I remember those days on my rocket! Still do that on the Harley, just not as fast and take out a few mirrors on the way! Or kick a few dents on the way!

It is only legal between the two last left lanes and you are only allowed to go 5mph faster than traffic. It was specifically designed for air-cooled bikes so they don't overheat in traffic...but the water-cooled boys seem to love it. Look it up on youtube, there are a bunch of videos of them doing that and having a car make a lane change...hitting them and causing more traffic. I think, when doing 5mph over, it's ok...but these dudes are hauling a$$. I like watching the guys with 20in apes do it...now that's funny.
I might have taken this the wrong way, but if you do that and think it's funny to take out people's mirrors and dent their cars...you loose my respect.

Its only illegal if you get caught, double check your state laws but some have special provisions for work zones and other traffic situations for bikes bikes.

Like rat rods, they never existed, they are an invention of the 90s because the make believe old look was in.

So now the satin black look has filtered into the bike scene. Its pretend black primer. Somewhere along the way folks though hotrods and bikes where done in black primer, poor folks could not afford paint. In fact, in the 50s and early 60s primer was a ticketed offense where We live.
It was considered a none complete auto, and a danger.

My bike was a "club bike" when I first got it...a coffee and doughnuts club

but i have to say, claiming that you can't lane-split with apes is ridiculous. My bike has been in both the Bay Area and NYC-area. Never had issues getting round and through traffic when I needed to with my apes.
You know as well as I do if you can ride in NYC you ride ANYWHERE!
