My latest: 13 spoke mags, Works Triple Rate fork kit and dual disks up front, vinyl wrapped upper forks with, blacked out triple trees and fairing hardware. Just did 200 miles so the bike was dirty and sun was getting low...enjoy.

Got my FXRT fairing in...
It came complete with a cd player, speakers, newer headlight, upper mounting bracket, newer gauges. It seems I need some sort of a lower mount for it. IF anyone else has done this did you fab one and if so how? Also I was looking at the microfiche and there are two other support brackets that I am missing. I don;t understand where they attach. They are number 48 and 49 in the diagram http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....ELDW/-FAIRING-
Saw and FXR with a FXEP fairing on it today on my ride and it was sick! The guy made his own lower mounting brackets but I couldn't get him to pull over so I could take pics. Note to self, lane splitting is much faster with the bike as it is now as he could not get through a lot of the spaces.
A little help?

The bracket on it will bolt right to the tank bolt as it came off an 01 FXDX. There is another bracket that goes from the lower fairing to the tab on the down tubes that I do not have. I think I will fab my own for that. There are a couple of toehr brackets that I don't quite understand what they do but I'll check my buddies FXRT and see.
This was mounted with only the bracket that is on it now on the guys bike I got it from.

If that is the stock FXRT bracket as it looks from your pic,It will not bolt properly to the FXDX frame. The top holes in the bracket may line up with the tank mounts but the fairing will point upwards and not look in its place.
The lower mount is easy to fab and you can do that.
The other two brackets mount from the inside of your fairing to the frame mounts, also easy.
But if you want the tank to mount solidly to the FXD frame, you need something like this:
Now this is a prototype in its un-finished stage. This bracket will put the four mounting spots on the FXD frame in line with the FXRT bracket.
If you want to shift the fairing around to where you have full flexibility of its position without sacrificing the integrity of the fairing with washers and spacers etc...
Then you would need a bracket like this:
Now you can position the fairing in the position you want to get the look you desire , set the position on the mount and your good to go.
This is especially useful is you will be adding lowers to your fairing set-up.
