I need some help...I blew out one of my fxdx shocks. Mechanic said they aren't worth rebuilding. A new set is $800. Absurd. So....for similar performance, do I go with works black trackers or Ohlins? I don't have money for JRI shocks or elseidjust buy those.

Dude, stop giving rides to fat chicks! Go with a black set of Performance Works. No regrets.

You can pick up a set of Works steel trackers with black springs for about $425 and they look a lot like the DX shocks and are internally the same as the black trackers.

No, but the guys at San Diego Customs have done this before.

One of mine is blown too, I may have them rebuilt and sell them.

Even at the stiffest setting, I bottom out, of course I weigh 255...

My OEM FXDX shocks are nice and firm, with no issues as they only have 4100 miles on them so far. I weigh the same as you. It is good to know Works offers the service though.
