How is buffeting for you with the shorter shield? I know we're a similar height, been thinking about dropping to a lower shield height. Also thinking about those hand guards, how do you like them?

Crazy, you seemed proud of that thing and it was unique for sure, but I get it. On to the next one! New bike looks good too!

Buffering went away with the shortest screen. That's the one on the bike now. I do want thevtalker one so I emailed Memphis shades to ask if they can make me a larger one then what's offered

i like the hand guards. I noticed with the cover plates on( removed oerforated look) with the tallest screen. It actually Mede buffeting worse

but with a shorter screen they are great and I run them daily

As long as they don't post any pics in this thread since it isn't a Dyna.

Ha ha, new Thug/Club Softail thread in the Softail Section

Yeah I was kind of curious what you'd do with the new ones. How do raise (or lower) the rear with a monoshock? It seems like that's the first thing people do is bars and shocks. I guess the idea is that the bike has better suspension and is more rigid out of the box, therefore it doesn't need new shocks?

Realistically, I know everyone's hating (I don't love the look either), but in a way they did listen. They improved rigidity of the frame, gave a better lean angle, gave a bigger motor (107" and 114" from the factory), inverted front forks, LED light bar on the fat bob. Although I do think these are all just a distraction from the EPA savvy motor...

I do see it as a move for the MoCo to bring more people back to the stealership for service. Automobiles have been doing it for decades- realistically it's kind of a bitch to just change oil or w battery on some of the newer cars. They purposely tuck everything way down deep and make weird Japanese torx sizes no one has access to, and even if you do you can't get a wrench in there without putting your car on a lift.

Dynas are the new FXR- the bikes that our kids will know nothing about. Time will tell.
