I've heard it's luck of the draw, but I would think generally it would be treated the same as someone merging into another car not paying attention. Just pure speculation on my part though, probably depends on the overall circumstances.
There has been many a time when I was wishing we had legal lane spitting here.

If I can scrape up the dough, these would be for my 2001 FXDX in the name of a lighter bike and therefore a bit of boost.
(I know I probably should've posted this in the technical forum, but this does seem relevant to our bikes and as I mentioned above, no new posts in days.

Also, an aramid belt with a mild steel chain?
If anything, you're going to add weight. Your bike will be slower as a result.
Not only are these components heavier, their service life is less.
Pros: You can change sprocket sizes easily. This adjusts your "final" drive.
Since a chain is easy to "break," replacement does not require removal of primary chaincase. Or, in your case, primary beltcase!
Seems to me your just spending money to spend money, but it's your money...
How does replacing aluminum pulleys with carbon steel sprockets become "lighter?"

But I've done several other mods to enhance speed and I was just curious about what my options were before buying a new mill.
I didn't think the chains and sprockets would be lighter either, but I thought I'd read somewhere that they would be.
Removal of that big primary seemed like an obvious weight loss, but I questioned the strength of a narrow primary belt.
Like I said, just curious.
Should be his fault, but even though lane splitting is legal, people are prettt outspoken against motorcycles.
Put on some dual disc fork legs on powdercoated them black along with the triples and installed new bars. Decided to go with Lucky Daves 10" Sandiego Bar. Loving the look can't wait to take it for rip!
If he doesn't change his story, he's at fault. He got out and said "I didnt see you, I didn't even look, I just saw a gap and went for it". So yes, essentially just like merging into another car next to you.

I figured it would probably come down to a "he said, she said" type of thing. Good luck. Hopefully they cover your damages.
Awesome platform for the members from Texas...
