For example if you are a great body and paint man or own an plumbing company, trade those skills with someone who is a great mechanic or has extra parts laying around or owns a tire shop or whatever... You will be surprised at the number of people willing to do so. Not everyone has cash but most can spare a few hours a week to trade what they KNOW for what they want.
When I lived in Oklahoma, I owned an Irrigation and Landscaping company. I traded irrigation work, trees, drainage systems etc for all kinds of work at my own house. Solid surface counter tops, new sidewalks and patios front and rear, a new shop etc.
You can make your dream happen just have to think outside the box! Cash is NOT always king.
And if you are reading this. I live in Central Pa and would like to have my tins painted, getting tired of the white. Drop me a line and lets work something out.
People need to network with others in their area. Trade your skills to others for their skills.

I don't know anyone who can just drop in to their local stealership and plop down the cash for a new sickle, let alone all the goodies.
And this sure seems like a blue collar thread to me.
A pic for this weekends ride in the mountains. I got behind a lot of sportbikes this weekend. I loved to try and chase them down on the Dyna. I caught some, but others were just to fast for me. There were some skilled guys out Sunday morning.
No Harley that I didn't run down though. Those guys are so slow on their lowered bikes. They can't lean over at all. It got to be boring passing them. The adventure bikes seemed to out number everything on the road this weekend which kind of surprised me. Some of those guys are fast, others not so much.

Finally had a successful run up to Neptune's this weekend. No speeding tickets, no slashed tires, etc...guess the third time really is the charm...lol
Rode up with a buddy of mine, seriously dig his bike. Racetech up front, Ohlins out back, and a nasty little 95" that pulls hard....we did the budget bandanna seat cover in my driveway to cover up the old man buttons and wrinkled "leather" lol.
Was a beautiful day to be out riding. Traffic was insane though.

Im a fan of Metzelers ME880 not a performance tire by any means, but they last long.
I had it before - it was quite soft. Not as soft as Shinko, but close. Aren't they discontinued now and replaced w 888?
A car in front of me was going about 80mph (as I was approaching 90mph from behind) moved over to the left a bit to let me pass. He didn't notice the cones on the shoulder and clipped one. Somehow it went under his car and shot out the back into my right highway peg. I'm in awe of the physics...a thin lightweight rubber cone bent back a piece of solid metal?
It clipped my foot as it went up over the peg and it felt like it was full of cement. I for sure would have broken my ankle/foot/leg if that peg wasn't there. I'm still throbbing and limping around, but should be alright.
I guess it makes sense now when you see those videos of a bird taking down an airplane!
