35,000 on an '07 Wide-Glide and no problems with motor mounts.....

I had BOTH go out on my '97 Wide Glide within a week. Only had 42K+ miles at the time.

That's like saying "I can't believe I have to do my brakes at 50k miles. I mean the bike had 42k miles as you say. Sounds pretty good to me.

That clank your hearing when you hit bumps is the stearing stem adjustment,not the motor mount. You could have a bad mount but thats not the cause of your clanking on bumps.
