I don't believe you heard that the Sideshots loose torque, etc. Typically that is a common critique of the 2-2 Shortshots. The Sideshots are 2-1-2 with the power chamber (and I have quiet baffles installed as well) which almost completely recoups any possible back pressure loss from the shorter pipe. My bike has the 110" engine and I tried the stock headers with the SE, the short shots and these. Best performance IMHO was with the Sideshots. I'm sure a thunder header or some other long 2-1 exhaust would get better overall performance, but I prefer the look and sound of these.

Greg...any dyno numbers to back it up? It would be a great way to drive the point home, although when I went from stock header pipes/slipons to my 2-1...I could FEEL a huge difference too. It was night and day. My butt dyno works great, I don't have the access or funds to dyno with each upgrade. Wish I did.

I don't really care about what a dyno prints out, I've had the same bike dyno tested 3 times at the same location by three different techs with radically different results. I can generally tell if power is lost or gained by riding my bike for about 5 miles. I trust my Butt dyno any day, also the back pressure stats are public domain direct from V&H just give them a call, they have numbers for all of their stock exhausts and super customer service.

I hear ya on that.

My dyno experience wasn't as horrible as yours (nothing drastic, just small differences mostly from humidity/conditions..and with a car, not a bike) so I can see how you have little faith in the numbers they provide.

It really is all in the feel after all. I know on my offroad bike (Honda 450) after I put a pipe, cam, intake and tuned the carb it was a WILD animal compared to stock. I didn't need it dyno'd to tell me it gained.

What I love about the 2010 Wide Glide is the chrome engine with the black case. I wish the Street Bobs could be that way like with the 06-08 models....
