I ordered some 11" Progressive HD's today for my 09 FXDF. I will be sure to report on it later, not that it hasn't been reported enough

I'll try to get pics as well.

Sorry, I did both. I did the progressive 412 12 inch shocks in the rear and the drop in kit in the front. THEN, I removed the progressive rear shocks and I put the stock shocks back on with 1 inch lowering blocks. The front drop in lowering kit worked fantastic with either rear suspension setup. No complaints. Not 15 minutes ago I changes my rear shocks for the third and final time while still useing the front drop in kit, and I still can still recomend the kit. But thats for another thread once I get these new rear shocks perfectly dialed in. That drop in kit is a pretty well designed and adaptable product.

He also asked if you used the 1" or 2" fork kit...I'm kinda curious as well.

I've got the 11" Progressive 430's which are tool-less adjustable and I put Progressives front fork lowering kit. Dropped my L.R. by a good 1 1/2". The Front lowering made a huge difference to where the center of gravity is...... the handling is far superior to the stock set up, and the ride with the new shocks isn't bone jarring anymore. I love the fact that it's so easy to just twist the shocks by hand to stiffen or loosen, depending on what you're carrying or terrain you're going over.

Sorry for not paying attention. The kit comes with 6-ish inch PVC tubes meant to go on top of the springs. Progressive means you to cut the tubes anywhere between 5.0 inches and 5 5/8 if I remember correctly. I cut mine to the shortest recomended level which was the 5.0 inshes. It dropped my bike exactly 2 inches from what I could measure. I changed the fork oil at the same time. I really like the kit and with the lowered rear, the ride is good and the handeling is much improved. Can't bomb her into the corners with the wife on the back any more, but outside of crazy peg scraping manuevers, I'm pretty happy. My issues have always been with the back shocks, I've never had any complaints about progressives front springs.

Throw them on and don't worry about it.

I bought 11 inch shocks for my wife's SB, I rode it with now bottom out.. I'm 215lbs 6'4".

I did have to buy a shorter jiffy stand.. see debrix.com for a perfect fit. Worked great. I also did the progressive drop in fork lowering kit for the front. I have a short little wife at 5'3"

I have 11" progressives. Ok, so the ride is a little more stiff mainly noticable when solo.

Run on the lowest tension when solo and you will not have any major issues. Handeling is fine too you will not notice any big difference, I noticed none.

Not sure what the big deal is, over all it's a cool mod.

IMO If you can't handle 11" , you need a bagger.
