You can fix that if you know a guy in a radiator shop that can build a small oil cooler to fit in there.

And actually it is a (semi) functional part. It redirects the air flow from under the bike over the cooling fins on the front cylinder.

About as semi-functional as my 2" tanklift. I'm sure, there is some air redirection - there would have to be. But I'm honest enough with myself not to think that's the reason I want one - no more than I installed a tanklift to help cool the top of the motor. LOL

You know you installed that tank lift for better cooling. Fu*k no you didn't. If anyone says they did then thier a da*m liar. We do it because it looks bit*hin. Same as that air dam. That is the first part I spotted in the HD catalog. Because it looks bit*hin. I was considering getting an unpainted one and painting it myself. I might be color blind but Rustoleum gloss black is a real close match to HD's Vivid Black.

Install is not really tough, but I do remember it was hard to get your hands in there behind it.

It's been so long that I can't remember the details.

It does cover the front motor mount, which collects a lot of dirt, etc, so I guess it will help with cleaning....or not really.

I think it gives the bike a sporty appearance, and I don't mean Sportster.

We are working on the small headlight visor next, and that should tie in well on my brother's bike.

Mine has the classic HD look and we are doing his bike in a different direction....more of a sporty, racy style.

I know you didn't ask...

but I like it! Reminds me of a front air damn on a sportscar.

Not every Dyna needs to be a bob...and I love the ones that are chromed out just as much I love my bob.

I have one that I haven't mounted yet. Ordered it and a painted fender at the same time. The fender came in two weeks later while the spoiler took about 8-9 weeks to arrive. You have to undo the motor mounts to install it so I just haven't had time to fool with it.

Default Chin Spoiler

I like mine....plus it gives me a place to put the Flash 2 Pass transmitter for my garage door opener.

Default Dyna Chin Spoiler

2007 fxdc
Here is another picture of the chin spoiler on my Low Rider.
As I said, mine has the gaps also.
The left side where the clutch cable goes through actually has a little more space than the right side.
There is a little adjustment (slop in the bolt holes) but thats it really.
I hope it helps some.
Take care,
txrarebear
