Mud,
What are the torque specs? Did you have to completely remove bolts and loctite? How did you determine when it was equal on both sides (visually??)?
kdook, book says 30-35 ft lbs, and yeah loctite.

Used a little machinists rule to verify the eveness.

I raised the tubes by hand, and they went up equally.

Warning: don't tighten the handle on your yellow Sears jacks too tight.
I did. Sheared the pin that turns the knuckle joint to the control valve.
Chicken shot little less than eighth inch pin. point 099 diameter to be exact.
Piece of crop.

mud- thanks for the compliment, but im not sure of the length of the progressives, only 5 or 6 of the coil windings show.. plus they are dropped all the way down.
kaduku- when i did it, i took them all the way out and red loc-tite'd them, if theres one thing i dont want to happen, its the front end falling out from under me..full
i noticed the difference in handling after lowering it.. much more stable, but since it slackend the head tube angle, its not as responsive.
side shot and with me on the bike height...

Yeah ffighter, thanks for the two new pix.

Barely see any rubber between the rim and the fender. They are short.

With the center of gravity that close to the ground it's got to be a road hugger.
You probably look for tight curves now.

Thanks again Mud, Looks like I have another project here going! So how has the handling and cornering felt since you've lowered the front?

FyrFytrRyn,
It looks like you did more than one inch there! Did you torque it back? Also this may sound like a dumb question, but what is the difference between red and blue loctite? I thought they just came in different colors.
yeah, 1.25 inches more than 1 to be exact (as stated in above post) red is supposed to be stronger.. it goes GREEN, BLUE, RED... i believe theres some super purple stuff..

yeah its a bit of a canyon runner now, im actually thinking of lifting it up a bit, im starting to drag frame and primary...

Wow, a free mod with a cool effect. Your bikes look great! I wonder if this can be done on Wide Glides. Mine's a 98.

kadook, john bear asked basically the same question except asking about a "big" difference.

Definately not a big difference.

Handling is better for sure. Just came in from a good ride, and I made it a point to seek out some
long sweeping high speed curves, as well as some tight curves. The scooter is definately more stable
with the COG a little lower.

This is good news. I will attempt tomorrow and will post pics. I have not seen any lowered front and rear Street Bob here yet.
