I'm of a mind that less moving parts is better. I have 9.4:1 compression and my starter works just fine. I made it that way so I wouldn't have a problem. Stock is 8.8:1

I got the 585 on my 103" BB kit running 10.7 cp and starting is even easier than before!!!

The bike is running hard and strong from start and after 3.5K it is just incredible.

The other day I smoked another guy that was running a 106" with redshift 575 cams.
