Default Adding flames to my Street Bob tank

I have a black denim SB. I just bought HD Pewter Denim paint and Clear Denim paint from the dealer, I also bought the tank emblems for the HD Rocker C. Going to fashion the flames after the 2010 Wide Glide, and just doing the tank. Paint and emblems should be in end of next week. Wish me luck!

Emblems and paint came in. I also purchased 1/8" detailing tape. I previously removed my old emblems and I mocked up where the new emblems will go and taped flames on one side of tank the way I wanted them. I was going to borrow a friends detail paint spray kit, but decided to let a local professional actually spray the tank.
With the black denim, if I screw it up with overspray or a drip there is no way to remove it or buff it out.
I should have taken pictures before I brought it down to the sprayer, and the tank actually looked cool with no stock emplems on it.
I will take photos and post when its done. Wish me luck!

I wanted flames but also wanted it to look stock-ish. Thats why I got 2007 Pewter Denim paint. The 2007 SB looked great in that color too and complimented the colors of the engine , components and frame.

very nice... honestly ebay has some killer flame decals and templates... they make taping them out and laying them so much easier, i am not sure how much you have laid paint or not but they do make life easier. Stoked to see how this rolls out man!

Heck yea Joe! I know what you are talking about, and they are fairly inexpensive. A great idea! I don't have the talent pannetta has and was wondering how to best go about laying the flames out without having to have it done. Thanks!
