SB Mini Apes on an Iron
I posted this first in the Sportster section and got very little feedback so I wanted to repost it here....I have an '09 SB and we just got the wife an '10 Iron. I would like to change out the bars on my SB and was wondering if anyone has tried these Min Apes on an Iron? I was thinking of PCing them flat black and trying them out if they will fit. Pretty sure I would have to replace the cables but I'm just wondering if they will work??
Thanks, JB

Richmond Harley, the dealer near me has done just that. It looks exactly like those are the bars that SHOULD have come on that bike. They flow perfectly. Don't know about the cables, but when I put W/G mini apes bars on my low rider, the cables fit with just re-routing them. I think they would work.

This bar is a black version of the Street Bob bar, and fairly common with the Nightster crowd (note the example pic):

Those flat tracker bars look PERFECT on that bike.
But, if you must change them... here's my suggestion.
If you want apes, go with something narrow to compliment the narrow front end. Those mini apes are like 32-34 inches wide and look kinda funny on that skinny front end, if that makes any sense. I think some Gimps, or licks narrow Z Bars would look really nice.
Congrats on the new scoot too man! I loooooooooooove them Irons. I'd have one already if I could afford it.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Adrian, I agree with you but the Iron is my wifes bike (Although I sneak out and ride it when she's not paying attention....LOTS of fun) She needs something a little higher and swept farther back thats why I was thinking the bars off my bike would be a good fit for her. It also gives me a reason to get new bars

Changeing to mini apes on a Sprtster makes it a more comfortable ride..I did that on the XL1200R I used to own plus I added forwards..go for it ..
