I did the smooth round air cleaner also. Had it powdercoated flat black with the same texture as the engine. Then used the Air Cleaner Trim (P/N 29483-99) over top of it. I think it turned out pretty darn good!
on my 08 streetglide which has a wider tank, i used the round harley nostalgic air cleaner. looks great, clears the tank, and works just fine. got another one i took off of my 02 dyna low rider sitting on a shelf in here.
