got the same lift with the same separation problem. I agree using it is a gamble. Be careful.

Do you mean this one?

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=2792

The online manual does not say anything about the ability to move the padded rails.

Get some 2X6 scraps and run the bike onto them before you slide the jack under (one for the jiffy stand also). Makes a world of difference.

Rich is going to buy a J&S after he messed with mine. I think he has the yellow harbor freight jack. After I raised my bike all the way and he tried shaking it and he was sold because it didn't move. It cuts out all or most of the what if's.

I have the Craftsman yellow all aluminum lift with removable 2" lifts,I ussually take the rear out and leave the front in? I still strap it down but don't have to bother with building anything else?

hell, Fabricate some blocks, How hard can that be? and then set the bike up on the blocks, measure between the blocks side to side and fasten them together with flat stock to keep them from flipping over sideways..what im seeing in that pictures seems to be a very simple fix, From what i can see anyhow. Just looks like the blocks needed to have a wider bottom on them for a bigger foot print on the stand, so that they couldnt flip over on thier sides.
