Default Trouble deciding on shock looks. Opinions?

Ok. Here goes. I want an overall old school look for my bike. I want it to sit LOW in the rear. I really like Progressive Suspensions 412 Heavy Duty shocks. I bought the Progressive 412 HD full cover black shocks in 12" because I really wanted the full cover black look. Problem is, they discontinued the 11" full cover shock in black in both regular and HD. I love the look of my shocks, but they make the azz end of my bike sit way too high for my taste. I was going to use 1" lowering blocks to lower it, but my side mount license plate swingarm mount blocks the install. I've decided I'm going to sell my 12" and go with an 11" 412 heavy duty but cannot for the life of me decide between the 11" full cover chrome, or the 11" exposed spring black. What's your opinion? Here's how my bike looks now minus the intake cover.

Never cared for the covered shocks. Get the black exposed spring set.

X2...if your going to run covered shocks, get some air shocks so you can dump the bike or ride it like normal....if you don't want the kits, get some off a FLH for cheap on ebay...I read somewhere on here that someone scored some on ebay for $20 bucks.

Black struts to make it a hardtail and LOW on the fender. Old school and low.

Might be interested in the black 412's if you want to sell them.

If I were you, I'd go with a set of 11" covered shocks off ebay. They can be had for under $100 and seriously, can't ride any Worse than 412's. They only come in chrome, but would be nothing to disassemble and have powdercoated. Just do a search on ebay for 11" shocks. Please don't go with struts. They look like crap and perform worse. I don't see the point in them. (Traditional bobbers were stripped and modified to make them faster/perform better or more aesthetically appealing, struts do neither.)

Street Bob 59. P.M. if your interested, otherwise they'll be for sale in a couple of days in the classifieds section and ebay. Only 70 miles on them.

As far as struts. They look cool, but have zero function. My back would retire me from riding in a matter of days. I actually LOVE the ride of the Progressive 412 HD's. I just don't like the height of the 12" shocks, and can't use lowering blocks because of my side mount plate.
