what's the difference between mid-grade and high? $.10/gallon? For a 5 gallon tank... do the math and use high test.
Good point I don't see the reasoning to save so little cash.

I even tried alternating tanks with the good stuff..........result was the same. I'm sticking with the 87.
you know...if you look for or expect something to be wrong, you will find it no matter what the situation

Marathon 93 Octane... Runs better. Rather run sand than put in Petróleos de Venezuela aka Citgo

Greetings,

With all the BP stations around here, I always run BP Ultimate. Never have had any issues with it at all.

I like Shell V-Power (93) with 3 oz. of Techron (from Chevron) every 1000 miles. 12 oz bottle ($7) lasts 4000 miles.

Bike runs best after a fill up and some Techron on a steamy rainy day. Smoother than owl poop.

In my 09 FXDC I use 92 octane. It still pings bad on occassion. I'm not real happy with Harley's work with their electronic engine control. I've brought it to the service manager's attention and dont really get the impression they can do anything about it or want to. It pings on occasion in closed and open loop, more so at lower rpms. The service manager says dont run it in those rpms, I laughed at him and asked him if he were serious. I'm getting ready to start tuning this thing myself. I've been around the block with speed density and know I can do a damn better job with a wideband and some good tuning software then they can.

Great responses! I'll have to ask my buddy why he's running the regular stuff when I get back from the beach
