I'm looking for bags and a windshield too for my Super Glide but I've read how throw overs aren't great for my bike and the HD bags are expensive... and don't forget I'll have to buy all the hardware to make it happen (move sig's, brackets, ...)

I'd like some good size bags (like Tele00) but I don't want to be out $1000 when I'm done.

Mine are 139 for the easy brackets.

119 for zip off throw overs that I attatched the easy brackets to.

about 3 bucks worth of bolts and washers to relocate the turn sigs to my rear plate bracket (you can probably get a plate bracket kit for under 100 bucks that will be less "Jimmy rigged" than what I had to do on my wide glide).

Heading toward Wolf Creek Pass in the Colorado Rockies Friday afternoon.

HD quick release windshield, $150, zip-off, throw-overs from Leather-Up slung
over the top of the stock seat with no hardware other than straps around
the passenger pegs and license plate bracket.

I have a set of Easy-brackets on order and will convert the bags to clip-ons
once they arrive, but with the yoke adjusted almost as tight as it goes,
the extra large size bags fit fine and go off and on in about 1 minute.

We ran into rain, hail and snow this weekend and the windshield was absolutely
necessary. People can argue all they want about how windshields "spoil the look"
of the bike, but if you're really going to USE it, not play with it, they are invaluable...

Have some bags I picked up off the net used. Made brackets for them and scored a new QD wind shield for my 04 FXD of the net also{ I'm a cheap S.O.B}. Picked up the forwards at the dealership on sale. Running a Sundowner seat and can ride for 4-6 hours straight only stopping for gas and the odd smoke. Never felt wore out on that thing.
The only people I know that complain about the look never take thier bikes out of the city.

sorry, got "distracted" for the last few days, weekend activities, opening weekend and what not but...thanks for all the thoughts and pics. As someone said earlier; these are a lot of nice looking Dyna's with bags.
Anybody have any thoughts/experience about extended road trips while keeping the mid controls with pegs as opposed to forwards and floorboards?

thanks everyone!!

If you want to take an extended ride, you need to keep as many options open as possible. Keep the mids. Put on highway pegs. Put on passenger pegs. Put on an engine guard. At some point on a 700 mile day your feet will end up on each of them.

After hours of constant (boring) highway riding I assume what I call "the lido deck position." Ankles up on the engine guard, body laid back against the sissy bar bag (turned in to cover the passenger seat,) right hand barely holding the last inch of the throttle and left hand lying across my body. Looks like I'm riding a Barcalounger down the highway. But when I finally reach the twisties, I sit up straight and bear down on those mids.
