Default Lowering an '09 Street Bob

Hey all you Dyna riders out there! This short legged girl needs some helping finding a way to lower my Street Bob about an 1" I'm not having much luck. The only thing Harley has is new shocks but they will only lower a Street Bob 1/4" I have a hard time backing it up sometimes because I'm so darn short.

I love my new bike. Had a Sportster for a year and traded up this spring. It's a bad lookin bike. This girl loves lookin tough on my bike. Don't like girly things. Skulls rule!

Any suggestions out there?

Will these lower the rear without having to chage the shocks? Should you also lower the front as well?

Yes they will lower the rear with the same shocks. You probably should lower the front too.

a few things you can do to lower...
-lowering blocks, shorter rear shocks, or change change the seat
for the front, the progessive drop in lowering kit is easy to do and I am pleased with the results
best o luck

as stated above, if you dont want to drop the coin on the front suspension you can slide your forks into your trees a bit, just make sure that they are even. Tarmac lowering kits work great... if she is a little girl you can always get away with cuttin a coil out of the shock. take it apart, cut a coil, then grind it flat... put it back together... that is what i am doing on my wifes cafe build... cheap and easy

I put these on my '08 Street Bob. I'm a little under 5'-4". They helped a lot in getting me a little more flatfooted. That plus a custom seat that was a little lower, a little narrower in the front, and new boots that are slightly higher than my old ones. It's perfect now! Oh - and I didn't lower the front end. Not to say that isn't a good idea, I just haven't done it. The installation went pretty easily. Didn't hear hubby swearing TOO much!!

Aftermarket shocks can be had 1" shorter for a lot cheaper than HD shocks, sliding the forks is an inexpensive fix also, I think a few people also changed seats.
